Sumner, is the premier beach suburb of Christchurch, the Garden City.

Our Sumner seaside apartment, is a modern upmarket, property on the sea frontage, with the spacious boutique apartment on the ground level being dedicated to guests. Please note we have only the one apartment.

We are situated within a sheltered cove (which has its own microclimate) Within this cove is Scarborough Park which is complete with its own clock tower, a cafe, childrens playground, childs swimming pool, and BBQ area.
This safe and unspoilt beach holiday destination is here for you to discover and enjoy.
Come and share with us, our little slice of heaven. Make C.views your Sumner beach retreat. From here it is only a 15 minute (part coastal) drive back from CH.CH.'s top beach location, to the centre of Christchurch itself. 

Sumner beach is great for water sports, swimming, surfing etc. A beach front walk to the Sumner village and shops will take you approximately 10 mins, with plenty of choice of restaurants, cafe bars, coffee shops (one of our coffee shops provide internet facilities) wine bar, plus a supermarket, cinema, post shop, pharmacy, and several hair salons etc. We are spoilt with lovely hillside walking tracks, with great sea and mountain views of the Southern Alps, South Pacific Ocean, and Christchurch City.

The bus stop, is just a few steps around the corner.
Travelling time to Christchurch from C.views, is approximately a 15 to 20 minutes drive, while Lyttelton, Canterbury's port, is a 10 min picturesque coast drive over and around the hill behind us, driving through Evans Pass / Sumner road. (Please note as this road is temporarily closed  ---  we use the tunnel for now)

Our Sumner Water Front Accommodation.

Guests are pleasantly surprised with the style of accommodation that we offer. It is spacious, affordable and could be said to be a blend of hotel, motel, and bed and breakfast accommodation all in one. 
You have your own entrance gate and pathway, which leads through a private courtyard to the front door of your Sumner B&B apartment.

A private line and cordless phone in the apartment allows you free calls within the Christchurch area. Talk as long as you wish! Use a phone card (We recommend the Kia Ora card) to make economical toll calls.

We have only the one accommodation apartment. Note the pictures above for bedding arrangements, one queen bed plus a single bed in the master bedroom and a queen bed in 2nd (spare) room. Max of 5 persons. Please note, we do not add extra beds. We close off the second bedroom, when it is not required.

This boutique apartment is on a seperate level to make your stay as relaxing as possible. This area consists of a private well lit entrance, and courtyard, plus your own lounge, with  tea/coffee making facilities, fridge and sink unit, microwave, toaster, TV,  DVD player, etc, two bedrooms, and an ensuite. A new sunroom has now been added to the apartment. Enjoy this extra room in any weather.

The lounge is furnished with quality furniture, leather couches with cushions, etc. The lounge lights may be dimmed and the lounge door opens out to the private courtyard and garden setting.
The master bedroom also has an opening door which leads into the sunroom with lovely views of the courtyard.
This sunroom has 3 sliding doors with double glazed glass, opening out to the courtyard. Garden furniture is supplied

The ensuite is all and more than one would expect, bright lighting, generous in size, and has a tiled floor. This room is furnished with a shower, toilet, and  good sized vanity unit with an extra large mirror above (ladies will love this) The water system is mains pressure and temperate valve. This means the shower has good pressure and no scalding. Fittings include, wall heater, extraction fan, heated towel rail, safety plug for shaver and hair dryer (hair drier supplied)  Towels are by Sheridan (soft and fluffy)

One other private bathroom (toilet) is available for your use, as well. 

We have laundry facilities. 

The court yard is landscaped with feature walkway and raised gardens with rock borders, and well kept grassed lawn. You have the added security of a private entrance gate, and sensors to turn on lights in the garden area when you enter at dusk. 

Price guide.

Our prices are set by the number of persons staying, and whether one, or two bedrooms are needed. State your needs and we will forward a quoted price to you.
We take a maximum of 5 persons in the fully opened 2 bedroom apartment unit.

* Master bedroom = Single person using the queen bed   =  NZ $150.00 per/night
* Master bedroom = Two persons sharing the queen bed  = NZ $160.00  
* Master bedroom = Two persons using both the queen bed and the single bed   = NZ $175.00 per/night 
* Master bedroom = Three persons using both the queen bed and the single bed = NZ $185.00 per/night
* If using both the master bedroom plus the second bedroom = Price given when number of  persons wishing to stay is known

Please note the master bedroom has an ensuite, a queen sized bed, and a single bed, and yes, there is one extra guest bathroom (toilet) for your use as well.

Off peak longer stay discounts could apply at our discretion.

A little about us.

I, Rob, am retired, and have been in the accommodation industry for over 20 years now. I have in the past been an allied member of  the Motel Association NZ  (MANZ) which has given me close insight to the motel accommodation and related business.
This experience has led to the development of C.views, which although close to hotel or motel concept, is rather unique in being a spacious serviced private apartment, where you are our only guests.

My hobbies include music, and Bulova Accutron watch collecting. Whilst Julie, my wife, operates an antique jewellery business. Julie immigrated from East Finchley, London, UK. some years ago and is now a naturalised Kiwi.

Most days, Julie and I stroll along the waterfront from Scarborough Park through to Cave Rock. We take in the village atmosphere, and visit the local coffee shop.

My favourite walk would be  "The Flowers Track walk"  It's only a five minutes walk along the sea front from our home, and you arrive at the start of this popular walk. This hill climb takes you to sea views that are even more spectacular (Great for those who like to keep fit !)

We both enjoy going for a drive in our classic sports car, and love to meet folk with this interest.
